Team registration has opened for Columbus CANstruction, a local competition of community teams creating and building gigantic structures out of canned goods.
Anyone is welcome to register a team for CANstruction, including corporate, church-based or student teams and local community clubs.
CANstruction is conducted in the FairOaks Mall in Columbus, with structures on display Feb. 21 through 27.
The event’s canned goods stock the shelves of local food banks at Love Chapel, Community Center of Hope and The Salvation Army. Last year, the competition resulted in more than 30,000 cans of food being donated to feed local families and individuals in February through March, when donations are usually low during the winter months.
