Dale Gordon Thompson, 65, of Columbus, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at his home.

Born March 27, 1950, in Columbus, Mr. Thompson was the son of S. Gordon and AnnaBelle Voss Thompson.

Mr. Thompson had been a member of the Indiana Army National Guard and retired from Cummins Engine Company as a qualified machine repair journeyman.

A former member of the Seymour Post of the American Legion, he was a big fan of IU sports and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica (Pete) Duffy of Madison, currently serving our country in Afghanistan; a sister, Beverly (Hubert) Brandenburg of Columbus; and nieces, Beth (Jimmy) Tomson of Westport, Dena (Michael) Hasler of Columbus and Rana Wetzel of Columbus.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Jody Wetzel.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Patrick Galligar officiating.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Monday.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Jonesville.

Memorial contributions may be made to White Creek Lutheran School, St. Peter’s Lutheran School or the donor’s choice of charities.
