Elra C. Ferguson, 87, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Ferguson retired in 1989 as a quality inspector at Arvin Industries where she had worked for several years.

She was a past member of Shiloh Baptist Church and enjoyed watching baseball, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Aaron Ferguson and Jonathan Myers officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from noon to time of service Tuesday.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Center, Kentucky, July 10, 1928, Mrs. Ferguson was the daughter of Clyde and Eula Atwell Chaney.

She married John C. Ferguson March 13, 1945. He preceded her in death, April 29, 2013.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Linda) Ferguson, Mike (Becky) Ferguson and Elaine (Roger) Ott, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Lisa (Darryl) Kinchen, Shelley (John) Cowan, Cassie (Jonathan) Myers, Aaron (Valerie) Ferguson, Lynsey Metz and Clayton (Lindsey) Ott; great-grandchildren, Beth (Trent) Amburgey, Kip (Hillary) Newby, Zachary Hogan, Laike Newby, Allison Kinchen, Tyler Kinchen, Katelyn Kinchen, Madison Kinchen, Blaize Metz, Talyah Metz, Nolan Ott, Joel Ferguson, Ezekiel Ferguson, Reagan Ferguson, Addison Ferguson, Kristine Ferguson, Judah Myers and Zion Myers; great-great-grandchildren, Taven, Dresden, Aerilyn and Lachlan Newby; a brother, Alton (Betty) Chaney of Greenwood; and her dog, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brothers, Lee, Earl and Bill Chaney; and a sister, Eva Smith.
