National Family Week seeks nominations

Organizers for National Family Week are looking for nominations of four families to recognize Nov. 19 at City Hall.

The organizers are looking for families who work together, play together, overcome obstacles or grief with grace and dignity, said Judy Lifferth, who is helping with the event. The families will be recognized at 7 p.m. in the city’s Cal Brand Meeting Room. Nominations must be received by Nov. 10 by calling Lifferth at 812-342-1552 or emailing jlifferth@comcast.net. The Southside Elementary School choir will perform at the event.

Other events planned include:

  • A free family talent show at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Cal Brand Meeting Room at Columbus City Hall.
  • Free roller skating at Columbus Skateland from 1 to 4 p.m. or 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 14. Those who attend may rent or bring your own skates.
