Bernadine Evelyn Bush, 94, of Hope, died at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Four Seasons Retirement Community.
Bernadine was born February 2, 1921, in Columbus, the daughter of William H. and Mary Louise Eickbush Schneider. She married Henry Earl Bush Jr. December 26, 1943.
Bernadine was co-owner of Bush’s Market and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Petersville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Larry) Kiel of Columbus, Joseph (Kathy) Bush of Hope and John (Shirley) Bush of Columbus; grandchildren, Christopher (Tonya) Kiel, Brian (Karen) Bush, Jeanette Bush, Steven (Heather) Bush, David (Katy) Bush and Nathan Bush; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Kiel, Alexander Kiel, Henry, Audrey and Nolan Bush, Anna and Evan Bush and Landon and Claire Bush.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry, on March 6, 1991; and a great-granddaughter, Eliza Bush.
