Talmadge Massey, 84, of Columbus, passed from this life at 8:17 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Michelle Aton.

Born October 15, 1931, in Commerce, Georgia, Mr. Massey was the son of Dock and Pearl Brown Massey. He married Barbara Dillon December 29, 1973. She preceded him in death in March 2002.

Mr. Massey was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a military policeman.

Having a long career in restaurant management, he was former owner of the Park-N-Eat restaurant in Columbus and retired from Sirloin Stockade.

He attended and volunteered at Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh and enjoyed membership in the Greyhound Club and the Field Trial Club. His hobbies included rabbit hunting and gardening. He was an avid car collector and he enjoyed going to car shows with his granddaughters.

Survivors include his children, Phil (Desiree) Massey and Pam (Lamar) Aaron, both of Georgia, Tina Baxter of Florida, Mike (Theresa) Massey of Noblesville, Kevin (Debbie) Massey of Columbus, Brad (Tammy) Reece of Muncie and Michelle (Curt) Aton of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and nine siblings.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
