Jenny’s Picks 11-05-2015

1) I could, and have, gone on and on about how much I enjoy YESfest, YES Cinema’s annual film festival. I will continue to do so. Now in its fifth year, YESFest returns with locally, nationally and internationally produced films in feature-length and short formats. You can catch narratives and documentaries that might just change a portion of your world view. There’s little else that sparks discussion quite the way films do, and I’m happy to find my seat Friday through Sunday in the theater at 328 Jackson St. for as many screenings as I can attend. Information: yesfilmfestival.com.

2) Another thing I have been vocal about is the Heartfelt Honors Quilts Display. These handmade quilts, created by the quilting group of the same name, will be on display 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. The quilts were created for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts who have been emotionally or physically wounded. They are a physical symbol of love and gratitude for veterans. Information: 812-379-1266 and mybcpl.org.
