Cheryl Kay Hockersmith, 55, of Westport, died at 9:19 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on July 30, 1960, in Bedford, the daughter of Richard and Margarete (Hunter) Emmert. She lived most of her life in Columbus and graduated from Columbus North High School in 1978.
She married John P. Hockersmith on April 21, 1995, in Columbus and he survives.
Other survivors include her father, Richard Emmert of Columbus and her daughter, Gretchen Hockersmith of Westport.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
The funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with cremation to follow. Pastor George Willette will be officiating.
