Sam Dwenger, Columbus East senior football player

Dwenger led the Olympians with 16 tackles, including 10 solos, and also ran for a 3-yard touchdown in the Olympians’ 24-14 sectional final loss to New Palestine.

“I thought as a defense as a whole we played pretty well. We had a lot of two-way players, so I thought it wore on us as the game went on, but overall I thought we played well.”

“I just listen to music and try to get somewhere I can focus.”

Allie Schooler, Edinburgh junior basketball player

Schooler led the Lancers with a career-high 28 points in a season-opening 69-14 rout of Indianapolis Metropolitan.

“I feel like there’s a lot that could have been improved, like finishing layups and less turnovers, but I feel like it was decent.”

“Usually, I just listen to music when I’m shooting around.”
