Brian’s picks

1) Columbus singer Dale Sechrest’s concert for his new release, “The Journey,” features something of all-star musical cast at 7 p.m. Friday at Columbus’ YES Cinema, Fourth and Washington streets. Guitarist Michael Clark has worked with artists ranging from John Mellencamp to Vince Gill. Keyboard player Troye Kinnett has performed with Mellencamp. And cellist/bassist Steve Dokken has worked alongside Sandi Patty. Tickets are $10 in advance at Tom Pickett’s Music Center and $12 at the door.

2) If you prefer your art be shaped from the forgotten into the funky, then the free 11th Annual Déjà Vu Art and Fine Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday is just for you. Founder Marilyn Brackney’s event highlights the wit and whimsy of creators of repurposed works in painting, sculpture, jewelry, wearable art, woodworking and other mediums.
