• Dad for bringing my keys to me at work after I’d forgotten them, from your thankful daughter.

• the staff at Columbus Regional Hospital Lung Institute for all of their hard work the past few weeks.

• the gentleman in a white car in front of me at Burger King who paid for my breakfast, and I paid it forward to the person behind me.

• Sara Beth and Tim at QMIX for coming into our class and reading a story and for gifting us with a Kindle Fire, from Miss Lewis’s first-grade class at Parkside Elementary.

• Erin at Texas Roadhouse for being such a good manager and always taking care of customers, from some thankful customers.

• JoAnn Ferguson for making our annual auction so much fun, from Evening Star Quilters.

• fifth-grade students at St. Peter’s School for a very nice Veterans Day Chapel Service.

• those who attended the Veterans Day balloon release and all the volunteers, participants and providers (Dave and Naomi Pyle from Flowers from the Woods and Bianca and Lance Snyder from Honeymoon Haulers) for their assistance in making it another memorable event.

• the many veterans who attended the St. Peter’s Veterans Day service, and thank you for your service to our country.

• Mrs. Dell and everyone involved in the wonderful Veterans Day program at Parkside Elementary School, from Janet Owen.

• all the people on Central Avenue during Wednesday afternoon rush hour who stopped for the dog in the street and especially to the man who got out of his car and tried to catch the dog.

• the fifth-grade students and their teachers at St. Peter’s School for the beautiful Veterans Day Chapel Service, from a proud grandmother.

• Hayden Elementary School for its special tribute to veterans during the Veterans Day program, a great job by everyone, from Ron Briner.

• the city garage workers, Vince and Ray, for the wonderful sidewalks put in at the corner of 18th and Maple streets, from Toni Rowe.

• the doctor who left his Columbus practice and will not return patient calls.

• the newspaper for allowing one person to take up space in the Orchids column four times in one day.

• the neighbors who have not taken down their Halloween decorations even though a week and a half have passed.

• those responsible for post office parking because there is no parking available for post office patrons.

• executives for sticking with a terrible health care company and putting the hardship on employees.

• a local business for delaying refunding money for work not done, from an unhappy customer.

• shady furnace salesmen who try to scam the elderly.

• those responsible for the annoying fireworks that occur so often near the high school.

• the hair salon that won’t honor its mistakes.

• supervisors who don’t realize that those who run and tattle to you often talk bad about you.

• gas stations in Columbus because gas is now $1.88 on the south side of Indianapolis.

• those not giving part-time employees a bonus or a raise, especially since they do not receive any benefits, but still are expected to do full-time work.

• men who are not aware that if they had good manners they would remove their caps while dining in a restaurant.

• the newspaper’s coverage of the four suspects and the killing of the Austin shopkeeper for being on page A6 instead of the front page.

• educators who feel it is unsafe for students to go to school on snow days but expect that it’s safe for parents to get them to three designated schools for internet access.
