Icemen go 2-for-3

The Columbus Icemen picked up two wins in three games last weekend in Fort Wayne.

The Icemen began the weekend with a 6-3 victory against Munster behind three goals from Dustin Rodgers. Cameron Nelson, Jalan Armstrong and Noah Carlock added goals, and Luke Fry recorded 16 saves.

Seven players scored in a 7-0 win against Crown Point. The goals came from Rodgers, Will Mayhew, Mark Mayhew, Jarod Buchta, Armstrong, Evan Shaw and Josh Wettschurak. Fry posted 39 saves.

The Icemen fell to Fort Wayne Carroll 3-2. Armstrong and Rodgers scored the goals, and Fry recorded 22 saves.

BROOMBALL

Two remain unbeaten

The Rockpile and Monsters of Rock each posted wins last week to remain atop the Columbus Broomball standings.

The Rockpile beat Hansons 8-1. Todd Houchin, Tyler Houchin and Tyler Douthitt each scored two goals, while Stephanie Pigneri and Ryne Brutus each added one for Rockpile. Matt Psota scored the goal for Hansons.

Monsters of Rock downed Yoopers 3-1 behind goals from Greg Thomas, Cole Newton and Ben Eckhart. Nathan Kent scored for Yoopers. Our Name is Earl beat CCA Kutters 4-2. Dane Bremer, Ryan Putnam, Ryan Gray and Jason Kanoke all scored for Earl. James Schnable scored both Kutters goals.

Flying Zambonis downed Toyota Tsunamis 3-1 on goals from Bryan Plunkett, Tyler Saben and Rebecca Reutell. Jimmy Robertson scored for the Tsunamis.

BOWLING

Bowler rolls 286 game

Doug York rolled a 286 to take the high game in the Tuesday Night Men’s League.

Clint Million had the high series with a 747. Exception to Rule 3 had the high team game at 1,324, while Poynter Chevrolet notched the high team series (3,762) and is tied with Papa’s Grill atop the team standings at 58-22.

Michael Branigan posted the high scratch game (246) and high scratch series (650) in the Senior Men’s League. Wildcats had the high team handicap series (2,963). Falcons lead the team standings at 67-29.

Courtney Barker rolled the women’s high game (257) and series (672) in the Sunday Night Mixed League. Henry Schultz III had the men’s high game (238), and Michael Cook netted the men’s high series (654). Seth’s Supporters leads the team standings at 46-26.

Ryan Robertson notched the men’s high game (257) and series (694) in the Wednesday Night Mixed League. Vera Powers had the women’s high game (199), and Bonnie Roberts had the women’s high series (532). Maybe Next Week rolled the team high game (921), and Stars had the team high series (2,591). Old Time Flea Market leads the team standings at 56-24.

Lou Kinman posted the high game (192) and series (547) in the Thursday Ladies Matinee. Heaven Bound had the high team game (632) and series (1,840). Chillin Out leads the team series at 60-44.

In the Merry Mixers Friday Night League, Jamie England rolled the men’s high game (264), and Billy Behmyer had the men’s high series (688). Roberts notched the women’s high game (199), and Shannon Antcliff had the women’s high series (559). Honda/Paws netted the high handicap team game (1,023), and Margie’s Munchkins had the high handicap team series (2,845).
