Peggy N. Johnson, 73, of Hope, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at her home.

She was a Beautician and worked at The Doll House for many years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. Peggy enjoyed fishing, crocheting and reading.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Jerry Day officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service. Honoring Peggy’s wishes, her body will be donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine and cremation will follow. A celebration of her life will be planned at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Gentiva Hospice in Indianapolis through the funeral home.

Born on Sept. 7, 1942, Peggy was the daughter of Gilbert and Lucy BanWye Smiley. She married Jim Johnson on May 27, 1977, in Columbus, and he survives.

Other survivors include daughters; Kelli (Robert) Pitman of Hope, Lorie (Todd) Holben of Clover, South Carolina and Jackie (Jim) Fukey of Bartlett, Illinois; grandchildren, Nathan Holben, Adam (Salena) Holben, Hannah Holben, Jessie Holben, Will Holben, Luke Fukey, Jeremy Pitman and Danielle (Bret) Mize; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Mize and Ayden Pitman.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gerald Smiley.
