In an attempt to raise money, the Community Center of Hope conducted a contest and found 12 deserving men to fill the pages of a 2006 calendar, raising a little over $2,000 at $1 per vote.

1990

A load of 20-foot-long steel beams fell from a truck on Interstate 65 just north of Columbus, backing up traffic for several hours and damaging 12 vehicles.

1965

Columbus purchased two new “Pelican” street sweepers, hydraulic unloading devices capable of sweeping streets and loading dirt into dump trucks, at a total cost of $22,300 with the trade-in of one old sweeper.
