Steven C. Davers, 70, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, Indiana. He was born April 30, 1945, in Freetown, Indiana, to Robert Davers and Beatrice (Stafford) Davers. He married Janet Romaine (Scott) and she preceded him in death August 31, 2013. They were married for 27 years.

Survivors include sons, Mark A. (Debbie) Goodin of Terre Haute, James D. Davers of Jonesville and Damon D. (Shelly) Davers of Vernon; daughters, Deborah K. (Marino) Caraballo of  Greenwood and Lynetta K. (Michael) Porter of North Vernon; sisters, Charlotte (Leon) Ross of Seymour and Margaret Lawson of Brownstown; grandchildren, Cody O. Goodin, Nathan T. Goodin, Nichole M. Goodin, Michael S. Porter, James O. Porter, Autumn D. Booth, Kacy D. Supple, Riley E. Canner, Anthony M. Caraballo, Amanda D. Caraballo, Noah J. Davers, Camron L. Davers, Damon D. Davers, Jordan (Cassidy) Horth, Steven C. Davers, and Emily Deckard; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; his wife; a son, Steven Davers Jr.; a grandson, W. Levi Miller; and brothers, Robert Davers, Jack Davers and Jimmy Dean Davers.

Mr. Davers was a member of the Baptist church in North Vernon and was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Rockwell Automotive in Columbus and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, farming, tending his cattle and supporting several charities.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 3, 2015, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
