Vivian Lucile (Smith) Charpie, 91, of Greenwood, previously of Columbus, passed away December 12, 2015. She was born August 7, 1924, in Indianapolis, to late Raymond D. and J. Malvina (Clark) Smith.

Lucile was married for 65 years to Wesley Trent Charpie. She was employed as a secretary, first at Duke Energy and retiring from First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana. She was a member of Southport Baptist Church and the World Organization of China Painters.

Lucile is survived by her husband, Welsey Trent Charpie; daughter, Donna Lynn (James Anthony) Jolly; son, Wayne Allen (Sheryl Ann) Charpie; brother, Everett Lee Smith; grandchildren, Melissa Diane Bensheimer, Bryan Wayne Smith, Todd Wesley Charpie and Christopher Jack Charpie; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Justin Brown, Trevor Austin Strickland, Taylor Rae Brown and Adisyn Dean Smith.

She was preceded in passing by her parents and brothers, Virgil Raymond and Elmer Clark Smith.

Services for Lucile will be Tuesday (12-15) at 11:00 a.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the mortuary. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family has suggested memorial gifts be made to Southport Baptist Church.
