Dorothy M. Dickson, 74, of Greensburg, passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on June 10, 1941, in Osgood, the daughter of Omer Morris and Alpha Marie (Cline) Morton. She was born and raised in Osgood and has been a Decatur County resident for 55 years.
She retired in 2004 from NTN-BCA after 25 years of service. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed penny slot machines and her grandchildren.
She married Alfred E. “Gene” Dickson in Greensburg on May 15, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2015.
Survivors include her daughters, Becky (Paul) Thompson and Susan (David) Owens, both of Greensburg, Polly (Robert) Gatlos of Nottingham, Pennsylvania and Penny (John) Wells of Knoxville, Tennessee; her son, Donald E. (Michelle) Dickson of Westport; her sisters, Helen Bolt of Florida, Janice Mozingo of Westport and Barbara (George) Huntington of Osgood; her brothers, Donald (Linda) Morton of Texas and Omer Morris “Bugs” (Kathy) Morton, Jr. of Milan; her 13 grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Haley Grace Gatlos; sisters, Phyllis Morton, Mary Morton and Joyce Morton; brothers, Clarence Morton and Henry Morton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
