Florence Marie Ogilvie Walesby, 102, of Columbus, entered heavenly eternity at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Dec. 17, 2015, in her home.

Florence was born in Columbus on Nov. 21, 1913, the daughter of James F. and Mary E. Bradburn Ogilvie. Florence married Alfred Lee Walesby on March 31, 1934, in Columbus. He preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1988.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Columbus Chapter OES, Business and Professional Women and enjoyed quilting with her lady friends. She had worked many years for Reliance.

The funeral service for Florence will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Dr. Daniel M. Cash officiating. Entombment will follow in Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Among Florence’s survivors are her daughter, Sharon G. (Bill) Vire; her grandchildren, Brian Cecil, Tammy Columbia and Susan (Rodney) Coomer, all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Melanie Morris, Connor Columbia, Courtney Columbia, Drea Cecil, Stephanie Cecil and Baylee Coomer; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew, Mae McKinney and Jimmy Lee Ogilvie of Columbus, Mary Elizabeth Ogilvie Diflavis of Florida; and other great-nieces and -nephews; a half-brother, Sam Ogilvie of Columbus.

Florence was loved by all of her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; siblings, Christina Welmer, Charlie Ogilvie and Jim Ogilvie; and half-brother and half-sister, Lee Ogilvie and Rachel Ogilvie.
