Maudell Caudill Griffith, 86, of Dupont passed away at 9:51 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
Born Nov. 3, 1929, in Roxanna, Kentucky, Mrs. Griffith was the daughter of Corbett and Betty Jane Ison Caudill. She married Lee Griffith on May 8, 1954, in Boone, Indiana; he preceded her in death on July 22, 1979.
Mrs. Griffith worked in shipping/receiving with the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon for 30 years. She was a member of Big Creek Old Regular Baptist in Dupont. She was a 1947 graduate of Whitesburg High School in Whitesburg, Kentucky and a graduate of Lees College in Jackson, Kentucky. Her enjoyments were gardening, flowers, cooking, crocheting and doing word search puzzles; she especially loved family get-togethers.
She is survived by her son, David (Gail) Griffith of LaGrange, Kentucky; daughter, Sue (Don) Smith of Columbus; brothers, James Earl (Carolyn) Caudill and Warnell (Gladys) Caudill both of Dupont; and grandchildren, Casey Griffith of Nashville, Tennessee, Aaron Griffith of Louisville, Kentucky and Lindsey Smith of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willie and Amon Caudill; and sisters, Maelean Lee and Devenee Whitaker.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.
