Jobs numbers continue upward trend

The number of workers, as well as the workforce, in Bartholomew County continue to increase.

Here’s a rundown of the latest trends from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development:

» November statistics indicate that Bartholomew County’s labor force grew to 44,787, an increase of more than 1,200 from a year earlier.

» The number of employed residents also grew, to 43,285, an increase of more than 1,600 from November 2014.

» The number of county residents unemployed in November — 1,502 — was more than 400 fewer than a year earlier.

» The November jobless rate of 3.4 percent, still Indiana’s third lowest, was a full percentage point lower than a year earlier.
