George F. Adams, 84, of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:44 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Mr. Adams retired in 1985 from Cummins Engine Company where he had worked for 30 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
He attended Columbus Free Methodist Church and enjoyed sports, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Madison August 5, 1931. He was the son of Emery A. and Grace Giddings Adams.
He married Elizabeth I. Vandiver, August 14, 1954.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years; a son, Dennis Wayne (Stephanie) Adams of Columbus; grandsons, Matthew Adams and Michael Adams, both of Columbus; a brother, Irvin G. Adams of Columbus; and a sister, Opal (Elmer) Seeley of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul W. and Donald L. Adams; and sisters, Ruth Ford, Florence Whitham and Helen Irwin.
