Doup picked to fill hospital board position

David A. Doup has been selected to succeed Tracy Souza on the six-member Columbus Regional Hospital board of trustees.

Doup, president of Taylor Brothers Construction Co., is perhaps best known for his community involvement, including several years on the board of trustees for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. The Bartholomew County Commissioners confirmed Doup’s appointment on Monday.

Souza, executive director of the Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County, steps down after 16 years on the board after accepting new leadership roles from Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop.

Souza will serve on The Commons board and the Mayor’s Council for Safe and Affordable Housing.

Doup was one of two new appointments made by the commissioners during the annual organization day. They also named Larry Hilkene, an information technology expert with Cummins Inc., to replace John Rondot on the Computer and Data Processing Board.

In other organizational business, Rick Flohr was chosen to succeed Larry Kleinhenz as chairman of the commissioners.
