Wilma J. Swengel, 93, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at 12:15 p.m. in Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Wilma was born on March 4, 1922, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest and Martha Beikman Rhoads, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Lester W. Swengel on Dec. 4, 1943.

He preceded her in death on July 24, 1986.

Mrs. Swengel was a graduate of Shields High School. She is a former member of Reddington Christian Church where she was active with the Missionary Group, Funeral Dinner Committee and the church choir. She is currently a member with Ogilville Christian Church. She was also a former member of the Sweet Adeline’s of Columbus.

She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Rosen, Deborah (Les) Roettgen and Kathy (Barty) Moffett; five grandchildren; six great‐grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Crump; and five nephews.

Her parents; husband; brother‐in‐law, James Crump; son‐in‐law, Michael Rosen; and sister, Lois Rhoads, preceded her in death.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Martin Wright officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
