MALE

Kaemon Jiles, Columbus North junior diver

Jiles set the Bull Frogs’ six-dive school record with a 299.15 in a win against Bloomington North, then broke the school’s 11-dive record with a 452.75 to win the Bloomington North Diving Invitational.

His performance last week:

“I felt really good about my performance because I broke both of of my records. There’s not much room to complain there.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“For 11-dive meets, I sit and I sprawl my body out as relaxed as possible, and for every single meet I can remember I’ve had gum in my mouth.”

“I drink Powerade like a fish.”

“Oreos”

Role model:

“My older brother (Keegan Jiles). We’re really competitive, so I look to be better than him.”

Best advice:

“For soccer, ‘You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.’ If I don’t try it, there’s no way I can get anything good out of it.”

Athletics goal:

“To break 300 in a six-dive meet”

If you could travel anywhere:

“Any island, because I love the tropical feeling. It’s the most relaxing thing ever, so if I could go to any beach or island, that would be perfect.”

Paige Miller, Hauser senior basketball player

Miller led the Jets with 17 points in a 61-58 loss to Eastern Hancock.

Her performance last week:

“We knew going into the game that it was going to be a rough game, and we’d have to go in with confidence. We just couldn’t stay in there and finish.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“We just do our stretches and shoot around before the game.”

“Probably to China because a couple years ago we had a Chinese foreign exchange student, and she told us she wants us to come and visit her.”
