Warm up middays at Salvation Army soup kitchen

The Columbus Salvation Army is offering a soup kitchen for the homeless from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.

This is an opportunity for people without homes to have a warm place and to receive something warm to eat.

The soup kitchen is available at The Salvation Army, 2525 Illinois St., Columbus.

The Salvation Army is also opening its doors as a warming center for anyone seeking a place to warm up from the winter chill.

Anyone wanting to volunteer to fix a meal or help serve should call Capt. Alan Sladek or Jodi Sladek at 812-372-7118.

The Salvation Army is also accepting blankets or personal hygiene items to distribute. If you have items to donate, call The Salvation Army or drop them off at the Illinois Street address.
