Hazel Laverne Beikman, 102, a resident of Four Seasons Retirement Center, passed from this life at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Beikman was born November 1, 1913, in Jonesville, Indiana, to Charles and Mary Bingham Hubbard. She married Virgil William Beikman March 17, 1937. He preceded her in death in May 1979.

A homemaker, Mrs. Beikman had been a sales associate at the former Yula’s Young World. It was said that her grandchildren were the best dressed kids since she worked at Yula’s.

She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Naomi Circle.

A good seamstress and a great cook, she made the best noodles and fried chicken.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Judy) Beikman of Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn (Denny) Stripling of McKinney, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Stripling; a brother, Donald Hubbard of Jonesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Beikman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Christopher Wayne Beikman; sisters, Edna Tormoehlen and Dorothy Fox; and a brother, Orville Hubbard.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Cottingham officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
