• Kim Bowles for all you are and do for so many.

• Leonard’s Tire Service in Hope for taking the time to check a problem with my daughter’s car before she left to return to her home in southern Indiana, from Deb McIntyre.

• the Owsley family as justice will prevail.

• Prompt Med Associates’ friendly front desk ladies, the nurses and the doctor for making this the most pleasant visit even though I was sick.

• Columbus Salvation Army for opening up warming centers for the homeless in Columbus and Bartholomew County.

• Steven Pat Myers for his years in the funeral business.

• Trish Ward for her hard work of doing the Orchids, Onions, birthdays and anniversaries, from a subscriber.

• Candy and Roger McFayden for the breakfast and the good time, from Don, Judy and Donnie.

• Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. for the “no thank you” food plan.

• Danny Sipple for cleaning our driveway on Jan. 17.

• the Auto Zone employee for installing the battery in the blue pickup on Jan. 14.

• Larry Houchens for being the Lexus go-to guy and the great service.

• Tyler and crew at Tire Barn for repairing my tire free of charge even though I had not purchased it with them, from Jenna.

• the Rev. Jane Sims on her letter to the editor on Jan. 17, and it’s too bad our legislatures do not comprehend this message.

• the person who sits in my chair at break time.

• those who cannot accept defeat with grace, dignity and humility.

• newspaper carriers who never even acknowledge a generous tip at Christmastime.

• the coach who leaves his son in the basketball game when he’s playing badly.

• fast food restaurants with two drive-thru ordering stations, because it causes delays with long wait times, so therefore they’re not fast at all.

• elementary schools that allow students to share food that is already opened and has been on someone else’s tray as this is unsanitary.

• those who continue to call for increased gun control as the Second Amendment protects the other nine.

• The Republic for not having an article on the girls Conference Indiana swim meet.

• the drivers of the red Toyota Camry and blue Subaru Forrester for speeding down Central Avenue on Saturday and almost hitting the ambulance with its emergency lights on at 17th street.

• the local sports star whose temper once again was embarrassingly on display for the scuffle he just couldn’t let slide.

• the company and its deceptive practices to get into your home to sell their product and for being out late at night to do it.

• the doctor who lost his patience while tailgating another vehicle on 25th Street during icy conditions.

• friends who you have told you don’t want to talk to anymore, but continually bother and harass you just so you have to talk to them anyway.

• the doctor who says we did not show her respect by sending two elderly people a letter when in fact it was the other way around.

• my new roommate who keeps drinking all my scotch.

• anyone thinking that a smaller newspaper is a good thing.

• the guy driving the black pickup truck that went flying around me on Saturday.
