Republicans showed up en masse and Democrats barely showed up at all on the first day of candidate registrations for the Bartholomew County election. Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., 29 Republicans and just three Democrats filed, according to the Bartholomew County clerk’s office.

1991

More than 20 new bright-white streetlights installed along the bricked sidewalks and intersections of Streetscape improvements on Washington Street were plugged in for the first time by Mayor Robert N. Stewart.

Plans were unveiled for developing an entire neighborhood, including the expansion of Eastgate Subdivision and the establishment of Candlelight Mobile Home Park on State Road 46 East.
