Irwin Financial Corp. announced it was considering the sale of Irwin Mortgage Corp., a strategic move based on long-term trends in response to a changing mortgage-service environment.

1991

Allan Denny, a teacher at Taylorsville Elementary School and owner of a business that made sports award ribbons for area schools, reported there was a national shortage of yellow, red, white and blue ribbons because of Operation Desert Storm.

1966

Several early bouts with heavy snow and the rerouting of traffic around the city’s major bypass were blamed for an increase in traffic accidents in 1965. Three people died in traffic accidents.
