Irmgard L. Morris, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and special friend, peacefully joined her loved ones in heaven on Friday afternoon, January 22, 2016.
Irmgard was born February 13, 1932, in Braunsweig, Germany.
After a long international relationship, she married her husband, Bill, in 1961 in Germany and moved to the United States. Irmgard and Bill started their family in Columbus, Indiana, then moved to Southport, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
Irmgard loved her family and friends dearly and they treasured her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her brother, Justus Meyer.
Survivors include her brother, Friedrich-Karl Meyer of Germany; her sons, Mark (Sarah) of Fishers and Derrick of Southport; grandsons, Andrew and Daniel; as well as her friend she considered the daughter she never had, Nan Dehnke of Vincennes, and her longtime treasured “German Hens.”
A service will be held Thursday, January 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, with visitation there from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Francis Hospice, 8414 Franciscan Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
