Mark Tatlock

Seymour

Mark D. Tatlock, 65, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at home.

He was born November 16, 1950, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of D. L. “Don” and Betty June (Waskom) Tatlock, both of whom survive.

He married his wife of 44 years, Loretta Jaynes, on October 1, 1971, in Seymour, Indiana, and she survives.

Mark graduated from Crothersville High School in 1968. He was a loyal employee of HPI in Seymour since 1973. Whenever they needed anything fixed, they said, “Call Pappy!”

Mark was baptized into the Christian faith as a child. His happiest moments were when he and his son and grandson were fishing. Neighbors always saw Mark pulling his red fishing wagon to Mutton Creek Lake any time he could get there. He was always generous to anyone, especially any kids fishing. Along with fishing, some of Mark’s favorite hobbies included feeding the birds and squirrels daily, attending auctions with his wife as well as looking for treasures at flea markets.

Mark loved tinkering in his garage, especially with his 1985 red truck. He loved the outdoors and working in his yard. Mark was a loyal friend to so many who will miss him, his wit and jokes, and how he always wanted to have fun with people.

He is survived by his parents; his wife; a son, Scott (Rexanna) Tatlock; grandson, Ethan Tatlock; brothers, Rodney L. (Teresa) Tatlock, Gregory L. (Cindy) Tatlock and Evan G. (Linda) Tatlock; uncles, Robert and Melvin Tatlock; aunts, Shelby Johnson and Deborah Abbott, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Greg and Rita Monroe, Nick and Betsy Prewitt, Tim and Kelie Jaynes, and Dean and Jody Trapp; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many loving friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Tatlock; paternal grandparents, Kerry and Marie Tatlock; maternal grandparents, Roy and Ruth Waskom; four uncles, three aunts and three nephews.
