Kezia Scherer-Berry’s home-school senior project, Fat Tuesday Dinner, incorporates three things I love: breakfast in the evening, Mardi Gras indulgence and helping people in Africa, specifically Uganda. Funds raised from the 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9 dinner will help pay for Scherer-Berry’s mission trip to Uganda. The dinner is set for Petersville United Methodist Church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, and will feature pancakes, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee cake and drinks. Tickets: $5 at the door or in advance by calling 574-780-2379.
It’s a couple weeks out, but make sure you grab tickets for the Eighth Annual D-Vine Winter Wine and Beer Fest, 1 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20, at The Commons, 300 Washington St. Presented by Developmental Services, Inc., the event features wine and beer from around the state available for tasting, a complimentary wine or beer glass, food, live music by The Circle City Train Wreck, door prizes and 50/50 raffle, all in a relaxed setting.
