The Columbus East Olympians girls basketball team used a stifling man-to-man defense to defeat Columbus North’s Bull Dogs 56-38 in the teams’ sectional game in Bloomington.

1991

In a continuation of a contract Cummins Inc. had with the U.S. Army since the late 1970s, the local company provided 396 diesel-engine assemblies from its Columbus Engine Plant to be stored for later use in heavy duty trucks and trailers.

1966

A proposal by Sheriff Charles Nolting for the establishment of a “workhouse” program for prisoners sentenced to Bartholomew County Jail detailed using prisoners to pick up litter and do other menial jobs for the county highway department.
