Vivian “Viv” Drake, 81, of Westport, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Vivian retired from Cummins Engine Company where she was an administrative assistant. She was a former member of Burnsville Christian Church and attended Old Union Church. She was very involved in Jackson School PTO and had served as president. She graduated from Shields High School in 1952.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Kirby Rupp officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wheeler Missions or Love Chapel, through the funeral home.
Born February 18, 1934, in Jackson County, Vivian was the daughter of the late Emery and Millicent Peters Hall. She married Jay Drake July 23, 1966, and he survives.
Vivian will be remembered for her love of her family, friends and co-workers. In retirement, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jay, of Westport; children, Jim (Kim) Gorman of Greensburg, June (Robert) Woodard of Sentobia, Mississippi, and Susan (Victor) Becker of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Gaston (Sara) Gorman of Greenwood, Clara Becker of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Emery Becker of Los Angelas, California, and T.J. Gorman of Greensburg; a sister, Janet (Roger) Works of Seymour; a niece, Esta Works of Nashville, Tennessee; and a nephew, Richard (Teara) Works of Plainfield.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Hall.
