North Vernon
Retha P. Sons, 84, of North Vernon, died at 1:34 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sawyer‐Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The Rev. Della Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
Retha is survived by daughters, Angelia (Doyal Remy) Spellman of Rushville, Beverley (Jim) Coldiron and Lora (Ron) Traylor of North Vernon; sons, James Sons of North Vernon and William (Cheryl) Sons of Butlerville; sisters, Burdett Parsons, Vivian Wilson, Wilma Eller and Juanita Mott of Washington, Indiana, and Brenda Bateman of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Harvey Milligan of Medora; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great‐grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Sons; daughter, Helen R. Sons; sisters, Helen, Roanna and Ada Milligan; and brothers, Ives and Clarence Milligan.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home for the family.
