U.S. Air Force Airman Colby S. Gutierrez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
Gutierrez, a 2009 graduate of Seymour High School, is the son of Timothy Gutierrez of Dallas, Georgia, and Tracey Jones of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is the nephew of Dorothy Jagneaux of Seymour, and Kurtis Jones of Bossier City, Louisiana, and grandson of Sharon Jones and nephew of Kimberly McKnight of Stonewall, Louisiana.
Gutierrez completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
