Thelma Louise Phillips, 92, of Columbus, died at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was born in French Lick, Indiana, February 25, 1923, the daughter of Mally and Myrtle Simmons Holland. She married Joseph J. Phillips May 26, 1945, in Loogootee, Indiana. He preceded her in death September 22, 1987.

During World War II, Mrs. Phillips worked at Crane Naval Depot folding parachutes. She attended the Wesleyan Church, liked to read and made beautiful dolls.

She is survived by a son, Larry W. (Karen) Phillips of Elizabethtown, Indiana; daughters, Anita R. (Donald) Nugent of Columbus, Carol S. (Rick) Wade of Scipio, Cathy J. (Tom) Bryant of Columbus and Connie L. Flores of Columbus; brothers, Jim (Rhea) Holland and Donald (Pat) Holland, both of Washington, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers, Howard and John Holland.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday.
