Slow driving catches deputy’s attention

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a driver who was reportedly driving slow and then suddenly stopped on a county road.

Rubicel C. Gonzales, 29, 2248 Fremont Drive, was arrested early Monday morning on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, deputies said.

Deputies Teancum Clark and Leah Burton were sent to 1404 W. County Road 400N about a slow-moving vehicle, deputies said. They identified Gonzales as being visibly under the influence of alcohol, deputies said.

Gonzales was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail about 2:30 a.m. Monday, where he was later released in lieu of $7,500 bond.
