Domestic disturbance leads to short standoff, arrest

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a local man following a report of a domestic disturbance in the 5100 block of Willa Way.

Daniel Roberts, 28, 5142 Willa Way, was arrested on charges of felony intimidation, misdemeanor resisting law enforcement and misdemeanor battery, deputies said.

Deputies were sent to the address at 11:07 p.m. Monday and were told Roberts had battered two individuals at the home.

Roberts was located in one of the bedrooms and surrendered after a short standoff, deputies said. The sheriff department was assisted by Columbus Police officers and Indiana State Police.

Roberts is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $16,000 bond, jail officials said.
