Players to watch: Columbus North — Alex King, 6-8 junior forward (14.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 49 assists, 34 steals, 20 blocks); Jaylen Flemmons, 6-1 sophomore forward (9.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg); Nathan VanDeventer, 5-11 junior guard (11.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 36 assists, 25 steals, 40% 3-point FG); Ethan Mitchell, 6-7 junior center (4.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 20 blocks). The last time: Shelbyville posted a 57-54 home victory against Columbus North on Dec. 4.

Sagarin ratings: Columbus North 76.46, Shelbyville 68.47.

Streaks: The Bull Dogs, who have won four straight for the first time this season, are 9-6 since dropping seven in a row in November and December. The Golden Bears come in having won their past three, but they’ve also had losing streaks of six and eight.

Will he or won’t he?: North sophomore guard Trey Vincent, who suffered a late-season ankle injury, dressed for Tuesday’s game against Columbus East but did not play. Whether Vincent plays tonight will likely be a game-time decision, according to head coach Paul Ferguson.

Class A South Decatur Sectional

Hauser (15-8) vs. Jac-Cen-Del (18-6)

What’s at stake: Winner faces Southwestern (Shelby) or Oldenburg Academy for sectional championship Saturday.

Players to watch: Hauser — Zach Gearhart, 6-4 senior forward; Zach Johnson, 6-0 senior guard; Quindon Shipley, 6-0 senior forward; Aaron Sweet, 6-3 senior guard; Connor Wilson, 6-1 junior guard. Jac-Cen-Del — Evan Borgman, 6-9 senior forward (18.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 72 blocks); Tyler Huff, 5-10 senior guard (11.5 ppg, 4.4 rebounds, 109 assists, 42 steals); Reuben Benham, 6-0 junior guard (6.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 57 assists); Maverick Dwenger, 6-2 senior forward (6.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg).

The last time: Jac-Cen-Del defeated Hauser, 69-61, at home on Feb. 12.
