National Road had the dubious honor of being part of the top four most dangerous traffic intersections in Columbus. The intersections were: National Road and 25th Street, No. 1; National and 10th Street, No. 2; National and Washington Street, No. 3; and National and Central Avenue, No. 4.

1991

Drivers were asked to avoid the 25th Street and National Road intersection where construction was underway on improvements, including dismantling and replacing the iron bridge and adding left turn arrows, all meant to improve traffic flow and safety.

1966

Social Security District Manager Worden Prall said nearly 1,100 people older than age 65 in the six-county area served by the Columbus office had failed to file for the new federal health insurance benefits called Medicare.
