Mary E. Bowles, 83, of Hope, formerly of Columbus, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Millers Merry Manor in Hope.
Mary was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Lonnie and Odessa Mae Hall.
She married H. Glen Bowles on Oct. 4, 1982.
Mary attended Lowell General Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Jewell‐Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Glenn Poynter and Charles Wright officiating. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday March 14, 2016, at the Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Burial will at Old Union Cemetery in Bartholomew County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Survivors include her son, Lonnie L. (Lora) Ryan of Columbus; daughter, Laura Ryan of Raleigh, North Carolina; step‐sons, Roger (Patricia) Bowles of Taylorsville, Indiana, Paul Bowles and Dennis Bowles both of Indiana; a step‐daughter, Loretta (Jerry) Coomer of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Amanda Ryan and Lauren Hupp; and brothers, Charles Hall of California, Clyde Morrow, Richard Morrow and David Morrow of Greensburg, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, H. Glen Bowles on Nov. 14, 2003; a step‐son, Bob Bowles; and brothers, Tom, Ralph and Gene Morrow.
