Sheriff’s Youth Academy accepting registrations

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its Sheriff’s Youth Academy.

This year’s academy will include a two-day camp (June 2 to 3) for Bartholomew County youths age 6 to 9 ($25 per child) and a four-day camp (June 7 to 10) for ages 10 to 14 ($35 per child). Scholarships are available.

The curriculum will consist of hands-on, interactive educational activities as well as physical training activities.

The academy provides insight into the functions and training of local law enforcement agencies. Activities and demonstrations include scuba and water rescue, bomb squad, SWAT and K-9, among others.
