Carol K. Harrell, 76, of Greensburg, passed away at 8:53 a.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was born August 10, 1939, in Johnson County, the son of George Everett and Winona Pauline (Coons) Harrell.

Born and raised in Johnson County, he had been a Decatur County resident since 1972. Carol graduated from Center Grove High School in 1958 and he was a lifelong farmer. He had served on the Decatur County Fair Board and was a 4-H Leader. He had shown sheep at the Indiana State Fair for 50 years and enjoyed collecting Oliver Tractors. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

He married Linda Lee Doughty at Smith Valley Evangelical United Brethren Church on March 18, 1962, and she survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Crystal K. Adams (Steve Stilabower) of Greensburg; his son, Michael Scott (Pam) Harrell of Columbus; his sister, Dorthy Harrell of Trafalgar; his brothers, George Harrell of Bargersville and John (Cathy) Harrell of Nineveh; his two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Brittany Marie Harrell.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with the Rev. Jay Vanderbur officiating. Burial will follow at Mount  Aerie Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
