Columbus City Council gave preliminary approval to a request by the Police Athletic Activities League to rezone 8.5 acres south of its facility on County Road 50 from agriculture to a special-use designation to allow the addition of two new football fields to the four fields already there.

Several area motorists were rescued from floodwaters as heavy rains prompted a flash flood watch throughout central and southern Indiana.

Spring’s flirtation with Indiana cooled off as a cold front rolling across the area brought showers, gusty winds, snow and temperatures that were expected to fall into the 20s.
