Fred Clement Whiteley, 65, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana, November 19, 1950, a son of the late Donald Eugene and Rebecca Adeline “Becky” (Clemens) Whiteley.

Raised in Boone County, Indiana, Fred was a 1969 graduate of Thorntown High School and attended Purdue University.

On June 18, 1977, he was married to Sherry Lynn (Harrison) Whiteley in Lebanon. She survives.

Fred worked as a field safety advisor for FedEx Freight. His memberships included Eagle Church in Whitestown, Gideons International and National Truck Driving Championship Committee.

He enjoyed farming, auto racing and doing ride-a-longs with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, but most of all, Fred’s greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation is planned from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home in Lebanon.

Interment will follow services at Cox Cemetery in Dover, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lynn Whiteley of Lebanon, Indiana; five children, Brayton Harrison Knotts of Tampa, Florida, Kyle Andrew Whiteley and wife, Megan, of Thorntown, Indiana, Garett Matthew Whiteley and wife, Sandy, of Broad Ripple, Indiana, Janna Lynn Langebartels and husband, Justin, of Whitestown, Indiana, and Rebecca Ann Janneck and husband, Arthur, of Lebanon, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; a sisters, Dianna Jane Lowry of Thorntown, Indiana; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother, John Edwin Whiteley; a brother-in-law, Paul Lowry; and a nephew, Mark Alan Gill.

Memorials may be made in Fred’s honor to Eagle Church, 5801 South 650 East, Whitestown, IN 46075.
