Keegan Lee Phillips, 17, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:53 p.m., March 24, 2016, due to injuries from an automobile accident.

Keegan was born Feb. 24, 1999, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, to Bruce and Amy (Strickland) Phillips. He graduated early from McDowell Adult Education Center and began work at Amazing Joe’s Grill in Columbus. Keegan enjoyed skateboarding, playing video games, basketball, listening to music and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Amy Phillips of Columbus; sister, Stacy Phillips of Columbus; grandmothers, Betty Sutton of Columbus and Martha Strickland of Alexander City, Alabama; three aunts, Trudy (Mike Tuttle) Coy of Columbus, Martha (Tommy) Love and Faye (Roger) Hand both of Alexandria, Alabama; three uncles, Robert Strickland of Montgomery, Alabama, Curtis Phillips of Columbus and Lee Phillips of Flat Rock, Indiana; and three nieces, Daryan Nowling, Kennedy Earnest and Rylan Zeigler.

Preceding Keegan in death are grandfathers, Leroy Phillips and John Robert Strickland.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington St., Columbus with Pastor Jeremy Touchet officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.  Monday at the funeral home.
