North Vernon
Evelyn June Grills, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born February 12, 1935, in Scipio, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ira and Katherine (Hubbard) Buchanan. June was a 1952 graduate of North Vernon High School. On December 29, 1962, she married James Edward Grills at the Butlerville Baptist Church in Butlerville, Indiana. He preceded her on March 26, 2001.
June was a bus driver for 30 years with Jennings County Schools and previously worked for Stoner’s Department Store and Jay C Foods both in North Vernon. She was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church in North Vernon and enjoyed spending her time with family, especially her grandkids.
Survivors include two sons, Walter (Angie) Grills of North Vernon and John (Janet) Buchanan of Renick, West Virginia; three daughters, Tina (Kenneth) Morin, Lisa (Lonnie) Lacey and Amy Grills, all of North Vernon; nine grandchildren, Kendra and Katie Morin, Nathaniel, Spencer, Dalton, and Caleb Grills, Lonnie Andrew and Devin Lacey, all of North Vernon and Greg (Van) Morin of Columbus.
June was preceded by her husband; parents; two brothers, Eugene and Tracey Buchanan; and two sisters, Louise Hines and Tressa Buchanan.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.
