Woman arrested after grabbing officer

Columbus police arrested a local woman after she was accused of causing a disturbance at a downtown bar.

Bobby Jo Noblitt, 25, 324 Sycamore St., was arrested on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.

Columbus police officers Josh McCrary and Greg Schuster were sent to the 300 block of Washington Street at about 1:10 a.m. Saturday about a person injured in a fall, Harris said.

When paramedics arrived to attend to that person, Noblitt began causing a disturbance, Harris said. Police told Noblitt to leave the area, but she refused to do so, Harris said.

Noblitt is accused of grabbing an officer’s uniform shirt and attempting to pull away from officers as they arrested her, Harris said.

Noblitt was released from the Bartholomew County Jail after posting $12,000 bond, jail officials said.
