Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, which is based in Columbus and serves 15 counties, is warning area residents that a company soliciting donations for The Hospice Support Fund is not affiliated with the local hospice, and none of the money would go to local hospice services.
The Hospice Support Fund, based in Merrifield, Virginia, is sending out a mailing in the Columbus area seeking donations, local hospice officials said. None of the proceeds from this effort go to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus.
Solicitations by Our Hospice of South Central Indiana clearly indicate they are from the local organization and contain its logo and local contact information, the organization said. As a not-for-profit hospice, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana relies on donor support to help patients in its service area.
